ISLAMABAD: Thousands of the people today participated in the funeral prayer of slain TV anchorperson Arshad Sharif at Faisal Mosque in Islamabad.

Faisal Mosque can accommodate a maximum of 300,000 worshipers while long queues were also seen on roads near the mega mosque in the capital city of Pakistan. It looks that more than half a million people have attended the funeral prayer of the slain journalist on Thursday.
Arshad Sharif was shot dead in Nairobi by police on Sunday night in a mysterious way.

People belonging to various schools of thoughts and a large number of journalists attended the funeral prayer. Arshad will be laid to rest today afternoon after receiving the last salutations from his family, friends and fans.
He will be buried at the H-11 cemetery in Islamabad near the Police Lines. The PIMS medical board also conducted an X-ray and CT scan of his body at the hospital during his postmortem on Wednesday and the report is being released today.

Meanwhile, ‘Ghaibana’ funeral prayers of Arshad Sharif were held in many cities and the participants prayed for the slain journalist and his family members.
