Sitting Brazilian President Bolsonaro may challenge the result of Presidential election as he is facing a defeat with a thin margin of only 49.2% to 50.8%.
On Monday morning, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva was declared winner of Brazil’s presidential election with 50.8% votes.
Lula secured 50.8% of the vote while Bolsonaro got 49.2% while the incumbent President Jair Bolsonaro still did not accept his defeat and he can challenge the result in the court.

Winning candidate Lula said, “Today the only winner is the Brazilian people.” “This isn’t only mine victory or the Workers’ Party. It’s the victory of a democratic movement, formed above political parties, personal interests and ideologies.”
Sitting Brazilian President Bolsonaro was leading throughout the first half of the vote count, but the streets of Sao Paulo’s city filled with the sound of cars honking their horns when Lula declared his victory with 50.8% votes.
In Brazil, it is a tradition for the losing candidate to speak first to accept defeat. Nevertheless, Bolsonaro did not make any comment even hours after the Brazilian authorities had named Lula the winner.
“Lula is the best leader for the poor,” said Luiz Carlos Gomes, 65, a retired government worker.
“We were always starving before him.”
