ISLAMABAD: A Russian Senator Igor Morozov claimed that Pakistan was helping Ukraine to develop nuclear weapons.
The Russian Senator Morozov made this assertion on Tuesday while Foreign Office spokesman Asim Iftikhar Ahmad has termed this allegation a baseless allegation. He also said that Pakistan has sought a clarification from Russia over this claim.
On Tuesday, Russian Senator Morozov identified Pakistan as a country which is supporting Ukraine to develop and acquire weapons of mass destruction _ nuclear bombs.
Importantly, Russian Senator Igor Morozov raised this stunning issue on Tuesday when Pakistan announced a huge government-to-government deal of importing 0.3 million tons of wheat from Russia.
In his statement, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar Ahmad said, “The allegations made by Russian Senator Igor Morozov that Pakistan was allegedly helping Ukraine develop nuclear weapons, were baseless.”
Asim Iftikhar further stated that the allegation of Russian Senator was shocking and without any solid evidence.
He also said that Pakistan government has sought a clarification from the Russian government on the matter.
