Australian police today announced $633,000 reward for those who will provide information about an Indian national involved in murder of a woman on a tropical beach.
It is the largest-ever reward Australian police have announced to local an Indian in connection with murder of a woman. Four years ago, Rajwinder Singh, murdered a woman on a beach and escaped to his homeland _ India.
Rajwinder Singh was working as a nurse at Innisfail, south of Cairns, when the body of Toyah Cordingley, 24, was found on Wangetti Beach on Oct 22, 2018.
She went to the beach, north of Cairns, for the walk of her dog and found dead.
Australian police said that Rajwinder Singh flew from Cairns to Sydney on the day the police found Cordingley’s body while on the following day he left for India.
Deputy Police Commissioner Tracy Lindford said detectives believed Rajwinder Singh was staying in India. She urged Indians to come forward, “give some respite to the family who miss Toyah” and get reward.
Meanwhile, three detectives from the Queensland were already in India and coordinating with Indian police to get hold of the suspected killer, Rajwinder Singh.
