ISLAMABAD: A local court in Islamabad today granted one-day transit remand of Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad for manhandling a police official during his arrest.
Murree police took Sheikh Rasheed into its custody soon after getting one-day transitory remand of Awami Muslim League leader.
The court, nonetheless, directed the Murree police to produce Sheikh Rasheed in court on Thursday around 2 pm.

Islamabad police arrested Sheikh Rashid last week from Murree Road. Police nabbed him on the charges of blaming Asif Ali Zardari, former president and co-chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party for hatching a murder plan of PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
Meanwhile, Murree police also registered a case against AML leader for manhandling a police official at the time of his arrest.
Talking to media persons at the District Court in F-8 Markaz in Islamabad on Wednesday, Sheikh Rasheed said that attempts were being made to alter his political loyalty.
He, however, asserted that he will not change his political allegiances.
