Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto addressing AJKLA today as India hosts G20 in disputed territory
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari will address the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly today as India hosts G20 Tourism Group’s meetings in Occupied Kashmir.
On Sunday, the Foreign Minister of Pakistan reached Muzaffarabad, a day ahead of his address to the Legislative Assembly. AJK President of PPP and party workers welcomed Bilawal Bhutto at Kohala Bridge on Sunday.
India has scheduled G20 Tourism Group meetings in Srinagar, the capital city of the illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, on May 22 to 24.
In his address, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto will reiterate Pakistan’s support to the people of occupied Kashmir. Pakistan fully supports the struggle of Kashmiris for the right to self-determination.
During his address, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will also highlight the Pakistan government’s concern over India’s decision of holding G20 meetings in the internationally recognized disputed territory of Kashmir in violation of UN Security Council resolutions.
China, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt skip G20 meetings in Srinagar
India has faced embarrassment at the international level as some countries have announced a boycott of the G20 meetings in the disputed territory.
China was the first country and a powerful member of the G20 group to boycott the meetings in the disputed territory.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and Egypt also skipped the G20 meetings in the controversial territory.
Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and Egypt have informed India that they will not be attending the G20 meetings in Srinagar, the capital city of Indian-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Turkiye has always supported the stance of Pakistan on the Kashmir dispute. Turkish President Erdogan has also raised the Kashmir issue at international forums.
Meanwhile, Turkiye raised the Kashmir issue in the United Nations General Assembly and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Last week, China announced the boycott of the G20 group meetings in Srinagar. India has been facing problems in hosting the G20 group meetings in Srinagar as a number of G20 countries have either refused to attend the moot.
China Boycotts G20 Meeting in Disputed Kashmir
Last week, China announced the boycott of the upcoming G20 meeting in Srinagar. China, however, has decided to boycott the meeting because India has scheduled it in disputed territory.

China and Pakistan have vehemently opposed the G20 meetings in the Occupied Kashmir. Both countries have urged the G20 nations to protest against this Indian decision and announce a boycott of the meeting if it is held in the disputed territory.
Pakistan and India have fought three wars since independence in 1947 over the Kashmir dispute.
“China is firmly opposed to holding any kind of G20 meetings in disputed territory, and will not attend such meetings,” Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Wang Wenbin told the media.
