Prime Minister approves Rs 25 billion
ISLAMABAD: In a bid to appease the PPP leaders, Prime Minister approved Rs 25 billion for the well-being of flood-hit people.
The amount will be spent on the rehabilitation of the flood victims. Shehbaz Sharif promised the PPP leaders to allocate this amount during a meeting with the party’s leaders last week.
PPP leaders Syed Naveed Qamar, Sherry Rehman, Syed Khurshid Shah, Qamar uz Zaman Kaira, Syed Murad Ali Shah, and Nisar Khuro.

PMO issues statement about approval of funds
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) today issued a statement about this meeting and the PM’s decision to approve Rs 25 billion for flood-hit people.
Earlier, PPP Chairman and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto raised the issue and demanded funds for flood victims.
Bilawal also said that his party would not support the approval of the new budget if the government did not provide funds.
Earlier, addressing a public rally in Swat on Saturday, Bilawal Bhutto complained to PM Shehbaz Sharif for not allocating funds for the new budget.
Meanwhile, responding to Bilawal Bhutto’s statement, PML-N Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal said they could resolve the issue the cabinet.
He said the government consulted the coalition partners on every stage of preparation of the federal budget and its approval by the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting.
Ahsan Iqbal also pointed out that the government presented the new budget in the National Assembly with the consent of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
However, the PML-N and PPP leaders decided to hold a meeting to sort out this problem on Monday. Resultantly, the prime minister approved the required funds in a meeting with the senior PPP leaders on Monday morning.
The Prime Minister’s Office also shared the details of the decision with the media along with a picture of the PM, PML-N, and PPP leaders on Monday.
