US Ambassador holds crucial meeting
ISLAMABAD: The US Ambassador Donald Blome held an important meeting with Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar in Islamabad on Wednesday.
Both discussed the mutual cooperation between the two countries.
However, the meeting seems to be crucial as the government and the United States are doing last-ditch efforts for the resumption of the IMF loans for Pakistan.

According to sources, Finance Minister Dar sought the US Ambassador’s help to use his influence for the revival of the stalled IMF program.
PM Shehbaz seeks a meeting with MD of IMF in Paris
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expected to hold a crucial meeting with the managing director of the IMF Kristalina Georgieva to seek her help for the resumption of loans.
For this meeting, the government has requested the IMF officials to arrange a meeting of PM Shehbaz Sharif with the IMF Managing Director on the sidelines of the upcoming New Global Financing Pact Summit.
The two-day summit will begin in Paris on June 22. Premier is participating in this summit in Paris.
“This is the last effort and if it ends in failure, the current incomplete IMF program will expire by June 30.
Importantly, the Pakistani government has fulfilled all IMF conditions except external financing. The government is insisting on the completion of the 9th review.
US Ambassador visits Gomal Zam Dam
The U.S. Ambassador Donald Blome visited the multi-purpose Gomal Zam Dam in the South Waziristan District of the Newly Merged Districts (NMDs) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Chairman of Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), Lt. General (retired) Sajjad Ghani, and the Secretary of the Agriculture Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Javed Marwat accompanied the US Ambassador.
