PTI issues show-cause notice
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf issued a show-cause notice to its former defence minister Pervez Khattak.
According to PTI, Pervez Khattak was inciting PTI members to quit party after May 9 riots.
PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan issued the show-cause notice to Khattak and asked him to explain his position on the anti-party move.
“It has come to the notice of the party leadership that you are contacting party members and inciting them to leave the party. In view of these reported activities, you are hereby called to explain yourself in writing within seven days of this notice,” the show-cause notice states.
Khattak had already left PTI and also resigned from the party’s slot as KPK President.
Importantly, several PTI leaders have deserted the party during the ongoing mass exodus. Fawad Chaudhry, Ali Zaidi, Mahmood Baqi Maulvi, Imran Ismail, Firdous Ashiq Awa, Aamer Mehmood Kiani, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, Fayaz ul Hassan Chohan and Murad Raas and many others have left PTI.
PTI leader Asad Umar in trouble
Meanwhile, PTI leader Asad Umar is in trouble for lambasting Imran Khan. He said Khan refused to negotiate elections plan with the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).
Reacting to Asad Umar’s statement, PTI accused him of being “confused” and “self-serving”.
Also, PTI’s media wing issued a two-page statement on Twitter. It said, “Ambiguity and confusion are evident in Asad Umar’s thoughts. Umar’s claims that he resigned due to disagreements over the chairman’s strategy appear to contradict reality.”

“If Asad Umar disagreed with the decisions of the chairman, he should have parted ways with PTI,” it stated.
Moreover, PTI said, “Umar, as Secretary General, is aware of the PTI’s efforts to discuss issues with these political parties.
