Pakistan likely to receive
ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Qatar are investing a huge amount of $20 billion in various sectors in Pakistan.
Rana Ihsan Afzal, coordinator to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on commerce and industry told Arab News.
He said that the Pakistan government has constituted a Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) this week. The prime focus of the SIFC is to attract investment from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

The council’s main objectives include acting as a ‘Single Window’ for cooperation with GCC countries and other nations. The council will also prepare a long-term roadmap for investment and economic growth.
Rana said that the council will create awareness of Pakistan’s potential, new opportunities, and ease of doing business.
The SIFC’s focus is on investment and privatization in Defense, Agriculture, Minerals, Information Technology and Telecommunication, and Energy sectors, he added.
Army chief extends full support to govt’s economic revival plan
Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir extended the Army’s commitment to the successful enforcement of the federal government’s economic revival plan.
The Chief of Army Staff Gen. Asim said this plan was crucial for reviving Pakistan’s strong position in the global arena.
Gen. Asim Munir stated that at a meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday. The Special Investment Facilitation Council led by PM Shehbaz Sharif held its inaugural meeting. The COAS, chief ministers, federal and provincial ministers, and senior government officials participated in the meeting.
The participants got briefings on the challenges in the way of economic development and discussed strategies to overcome them.
During the meeting, Gen. Asim Munir delivered a statement wherein he expressed unwavering support of the Pakistan Army for the government’s economic recovery plan.
Army Chief hoped crucial role of this plan in securing Pakistan’s socio-economic prosperity and its esteemed position on the global stage.
