LAHORE: The Accountability Court of Lahore issued a comprehensive verdict today regarding the acquittal of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the plot allotment case.
The verdict provides detailed information on the termination of Nawaz Sharif’s proclaimed offender status and the legal grounds on which he has been granted relief.
According to the verdict, the evidence suggests that Nawaz Sharif was targeted as a result of political vendetta. It further states that the previous government of PTI compelled the National Accountability Bureau to initiate a reference against Nawaz Sharif in order to tarnish his professional reputation.

Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz are waving to their supporters as PML-N leaders are waiting for Nawaz’s return to Pakistan.
The court has ordered the acquittal of Nawaz Sharif, who served as the Prime Minister on three occasions, from all charges in the case.
The verdict also highlights the opinion of the amicus curiae, who asserts that Nawaz Sharif should receive the same relief as the main suspects in the case.
The verdict emphasizes that a proclaimed offender should receive the same punishment or relief as the central accused, stating that the proceedings to declare Nawaz Sharif a proclaimed offender were not conducted in accordance with the law.
Considering the decision of the Supreme Court, the verdict asserts that Nawaz Sharif should have received the same relief granted to the other accused individuals involved in the case.
As a result, the National Accountability Bureau and the revenue board have been directed to unfreeze the properties owned by shareholders in Nawaz Sharif’s assets.
The court has further instructed that a copy of the court order should be sent to the Chairman of the National Accountability Bureau and other relevant parties.
The amicus curiae has raised concerns about the improper procedure followed in declaring Nawaz Sharif a proclaimed offender. The shareholders of Nawaz Sharif’s properties have lodged objections against the freezing of their assets.
In the plot allotment reference against Nawaz Sharif, the court had appointed senior prosecutor Hafiz Asadullah as the amicus curiae to represent the case.
