Google signs MoU
QUETTA/ISLAMABAD: Google has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Balochistan government, offering 2000 additional scholarships and internship opportunities to students in the province.
The initiative aims to align the youth with the demands of the modern age and enable them to secure online jobs.
Additionally, Google will extend its support in digitalizing the provincial information department.
Balochistan Finance Minister Zamrik Khan Achakzai, Chief Secretary Abdul Aziz Aqaili, Secretary Information Technology Tayyab Lahri, Information Secretary Muhammad Hamza Shafaqat, and Google Team Leader Umar Farooq participated in the MoU signing ceremony.

Chief Secretary Balochistan expressed his enthusiasm for this important development. He termed it a Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo’s commitment to providing dignified employment opportunities for the youth.
Previously, Google had granted 1000 scholarships to the youth of Balochistan, with over 900 participants enrolling in the program.
Secretary Muhammad Hamza Shafaqat informed the media that Google has now provided an additional 2000 scholarships. He said 1000 scholarships are for girls and 1000 for boys.
The internships will equip young participants with international certifications, enabling them to secure online jobs. They will be able to earn up to 1,000 dollars per month.
Back in May, Google had already provided 1000 scholarships to the youth in the province.
Canada offers Visa + open stay
Canada is actively wooing remote workers in the technology sector through a digital nomad program. In this program, Canada will grant visitors the opportunity to stay in the country for up to six months without the need for a work permit.
This initiative also opens the door to the possibility of a permanent move.
Nicole Cieslicki, Senior Director of International Services at MBO Partners, praised the announcement. He said it would reduce the bureaucratic hurdles associated with normal Canadian immigration procedures.
The country is facing a tech labor shortage, and in response, they have introduced the Tech Talent Strategy to build a talent pool of individuals committed to staying in Canada long-term.
