ISLAMABAD: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab has arrested 13 terrorists affiliated with banned organizations through intelligence-based operations conducted in various cities of the province, including Lahore.
During the operation in Lahore, officials claimed to have captured a key commander of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and two members of Daesh (Islamic State).

They also reported the arrest of five terrorists associated with the outlawed TTP in Attock. In addition, authorities apprehended activists linked to the banned organization in Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, and Jhelum.
CTD officials disclosed that they had recovered explosive materials and equipment for making suicide jackets from the arrested terrorists. Cases have been filed against the detainees, and investigations are in progress.
Earlier on September 9, the CTD arrested two alleged terrorists in intelligence-based operations conducted in Rawalpindi and Gujranwala.
Isa, a central member of Daesh or Islamic State (IS), was among the arrested terrorists. The authorities apprehended him in Rawalpindi during an intelligence-based operation (IBO).
Authorities seized significant quantity of explosive material, detonators, mobile phones, and cash from these individuals.
The CTD officials stated that, during the week, they carried out 369 combing operations. These operations result in the arrest of 52 suspects.
