ISLAMABAD: The caretaker government has made a significant decision to initiate the re-verification process for mobile SIM cards within the country.
These reports suggest that the re-verification process will employ the Multi Finger Biometric Verification System.
This pivotal decision was reached during a meeting held in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The caretaker chief minister of KP, high-ranking military officials, and other government authorities attended the meeting.

Notably, authorities have already blocked more than 80,000 SIM cards. In addition to this, four million inactive SIMS have also been blocked.
Furthermore, the participants of meeting were also informed that authorities have invalidated 112,320 tampered Afghan passports.
It was also decided in the meeting to issue a single SIM for one passport.

Meanwhile, on Monday, the Federal Investigation Agency apprehended an assistant to a travel agent who is alleged to have played a role in sending 16 Pakistanis to Saudi Arabia for the purpose of begging.
Rab Nawaz, the arrested accused, facilitated Umrah visas for 16 individuals, including a family with a child, for the purpose of begging.
On November 29, the FIA prevented all 16 individuals from boarding their flight to Saudi Arabia and initiated an investigation against them.
The visa holders informed officials that three agents had organized their accommodations in Saudi Arabia.
An FIA official stated that the accused had convinced at least two individuals, Mujahid and Tanveer Abbas, to engage in begging in Saudi Arabia and had arranged visas for them.
The previously apprehended sixteen individuals disclosed to the FIA that the agents would receive 50% of the funds they collected through begging.
FIA officials reported that their Multan circle was conducting raids to apprehend other suspects.
In a Senate meeting on September 27, it was revealed that 90% of the beggars arrested in foreign countries were Pakistanis.
Senator Rana Mehmood-ul-Hasan pointed out that the Iraqi ambassador had stated that Pakistan was sending habitual criminals to Iraq, who were filling their jails.
