TEHRAN: Mohammad Eslami announced the expulsion of United Nations nuclear watchdog inspectors from Iran due to their “rigid political conduct.”
Speaking to reporters, Eslami specified that the dismissed inspectors hailed from three European nations known for their consistently harsh political stances. As a result, these inspectors were removed from the list of authorized personnel. Eslami is the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI).
Eslami further clarified that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) maintains dozens of approved inspectors in Iran, totaling 127 individuals.

He noted that the ousted inspectors had not visited Iran for several years, and their removal did not significantly affect the overall count of official inspectors.
Iranian nuclear chief said the ongoing discord between Iran and the IAEA stemmed from the political maneuvers of certain nations. These nations persistently demand Iran’s unilateral compliance with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Additionally, Eslami disclosed Iran’s plan to host an international nuclear conference in Isfahan in May 2024.
He mentioned that they had informed the IAEA of this intention during a previous visit by the agency’s director, Rafael Grossi, who expressed willingness to cooperate. This conference is envisioned as the first international nuclear gathering of the Islamic Republic of Iran, lasting for three days.
Furthermore, Eslami emphasized that Iran’s nuclear achievements are dedicated to the betterment of humanity, reiterating that Iran does not seek nuclear weapons but instead pursues peaceful nuclear energy. He also expressed Iran’s readiness to share its nuclear advancements with non-hostile nations across the globe.
