LAHORE/ISLAMABAD: On Wednesday, the Lahore High Court (LHC) granted bail to Khadija Shah, an activist associated with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), in two cases linked to the violent events that transpired on May 9.
A two-member bench of the LHC, presided over by Justice Ayla Neelum, presided over the case and extended bail to Khadija Shah and nine other individuals.
Prior to this, Khadija Shah, a PTI activist currently under judicial remand for her involvement in several cases related to the May 9 riots, had approached the Lahore High Court, requesting access to the particulars of all charges registered against her.

Advocate Sameer Khosa filed a petition on behalf of Ms. Shah, contending that she had been wrongly implicated by the police in these cases.
The petition highlights the petitioner’s right to be aware of any cases filed against her in order to ensure a fair trial.
Furthermore, the petition urges the court to instruct both the police and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to provide a comprehensive list of First Information Reports (FIRs) filed against the petitioner.
Additionally, the petition seeks protective bail to grant Khadija Shah the opportunity to request bail before an arrest and to participate in any investigations related to her.
Regarding the events of May 9, violent confrontations erupted throughout Pakistan following the arrest of former Prime Minister and PTI leader, Imran Khan, at the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
Protests were staged in various cities as party supporters expressed their discontent over the arrest of their party chairman.
During one of these protests, PTI workers targeted army installations and the residence of the Corps Commander in Lahore, leading to attacks on these locations.
