Movie enthusiasts in Maharashtra, India, were left terrified when a group of fans ignited fireworks inside a cinema during a screening of the Bollywood film “Tiger 3,” featuring Salman Khan.
Video footage circulated on social media depicted people in a state of panic as fireworks illuminated the theater in the Malegaon area of Maharashtra. Responding to reports of fans setting off firecrackers in cinemas across India, Salman Khan took to social media to issue a cautionary message.
“I’ve heard about fireworks inside theaters during Tiger 3. This is dangerous. Let’s enjoy the film without putting ourselves and others at risk. Stay safe,” he wrote in a post on X. “Tiger 3,” the third installment of the YRF franchise, stars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles.
The video suggests that fans waited for Khan’s on-screen appearance before launching firecrackers into the air, leading to a stampede-like situation. Panicked individuals rushed towards the theater exits as the cinema hall illuminated with orange explosions and sparks.

In a remarkable achievement, Salman Khan’s “Tiger 3” set a new record for his biggest opening day and became the top-grossing film on Diwali Day in the history of Hindi cinema.
Produced by Yash Raj Films and part of producer Aditya Chopra’s YRF Spy Universe, the movie grossed an estimated 94 crore ($11.35M) globally over the weekend, including 52.5 crore ($6.3M) in India.
Although the action-packed film, co-starring Katrina Kaif, premiered in some markets on Saturday, its official opening in India coincided with Diwali Day.
Despite the typically subdued moviegoing on Diwali, “Tiger 3” set a record for the holiday, and it also boasted the highest overseas opening day, including paid previews.
