Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has commenced a visit to the United Arab Emirates, where he is scheduled to engage in various high-level discussions.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kakar is set to meet with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed during this bilateral trip.
The statement highlights that this engagement aims to enhance bilateral relations across various domains, encompassing political, economic, trade, investment, cultural, defense, and people-to-people connections.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister is expected to formalize agreements with the UAE government through the signing of memorandums of understanding. These agreements will involve investment in diverse sectors, including energy, port operations projects, wastewater treatment, food security, logistics, mining, aviation, and banking and financial services.
The statement underscores the enduring and cordial relationship between Pakistan and the UAE, which has withstood the challenges of time.
In addition to these engagements, PM Kakar is slated to participate in the Climate Change Conference (Cop-28) scheduled for December 1-2.
Lakki Marwat Locals Aid Police During Terrorist Confrontation
Meanwhile, in a remarkable display of solidarity and courage, citizens of Lakki Marwat rushed to the aid of police officials during a tense confrontation with a group of terrorists on Saturday. The incident unfolded when police personnel stationed at the Ahmedzai checkpost identified seven or eight terrorists moving through the area, suggesting a potential terror threat.
Swiftly responding to the situation, the police, equipped with the latest surveillance technology, engaged the terrorists in a standoff. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, local residents spontaneously mobilized to support the law enforcement efforts. The joint collaboration between the police and the citizens proved instrumental in repelling the terrorists. Through their combined efforts, the threat was neutralized, and the terrorists were prevented from carrying out any destructive actions. Importantly, no loss of life was reported, underscoring the effectiveness of the collective response.
