In the vicinity of Ramna Police Station in Islamabad, a tragic incident occurred on Sunday where a dedicated policeman, Head Constable Mohammad Ashraf, along with his son, fell victim to ruthless robbers while attempting to thwart a robbery, as reported by the capital city police.
The assailants callously opened fire on Head Constable Mohammad Ashraf, who bravely sought to apprehend the burglars in the act of committing a dacoity. Tragically, his son was also shot by the alleged criminals when he rushed to his father’s aid. The deceased policeman had been stationed at the Police Lines Headquarters.
In response to the distressing incident, a substantial contingent of police, including senior officials, was swiftly deployed to the scene. A thorough search operation was initiated in the surrounding area to apprehend the perpetrators responsible for this heinous act.
Taking cognizance of the situation, ICCPO Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan intervened and directed the authorities to expedite the apprehension of the accused individuals. Polio Vaccination Campaign Suspended In Tank And DI Khan Over Security Concerns
Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) administration has made the decision to temporarily suspend the scheduled polio vaccination drive in the districts of Tank and Dera Ismail Khan due to escalating security concerns. Sources reported this development on Sunday, revealing that the vaccination campaign, initially set to commence on December 18, has been delayed, marking the second such postponement in recent months.
This precautionary move follows a series of terrorist attacks in the aforementioned districts, including a targeted assault in Tank where three police officers lost their lives. The incident occurred in the Police Lines area on Friday, prompting concerns about the security of the region. Notably, the area is located a mere two kilometers away from Dera Ismail Khan, where earlier in the week, separate incidents resulted in the martyrdom of at least 25 army soldiers.
