Due to the upcoming general elections scheduled for February 8, all government officials in Islamabad will not be allowed to take leaves until the electoral process concludes. The Election Commission of Pakistan has mandated this directive, and the Islamabad deputy commissioner has issued an order accordingly.
The ban on leaves for government officials in the federal capital will remain in effect until after the February general elections. The directive specifies that sick leaves will only be granted in cases of maternity or with the explicit permission of a medical officer.
Government officials associated with the federal education system and its subordinate institutions are instructed not to leave the city. Furthermore, officers and officials are advised not to leave the capital during the winter vacation, as outlined in the deputy commissioner’s instructions.
To facilitate the training of polling staff, officials are required to remain present at their designated stations. The order emphasizes the importance of adhering to the instructions of the Election Commission of Pakistan both in letter and in spirit.
