Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, has warned that if the group does not react to the assassination of Hamas deputy chief Saleh al-Arouri in Beirut, all of Lebanon will be exposed. Nasrallah emphasized that Hezbollah cannot remain silent about such a violation and promised retaliation.
The killing of al-Arouri in an alleged Israeli attack prompted Lebanon to file a complaint with the UN Security Council, labeling it the “most dangerous phase” of Israeli attacks. Nasrallah accused Israel of using Lebanese airspace to bomb Syria.
He reiterated the threat of retaliation, stating that the murder of al-Arouri “will not go unanswered or unpunished,” and Hezbollah fighters will respond at the right time and place. Nasrallah claimed full knowledge of Israeli military positions and criticized their reporting of casualties and equipment damage.
He highlighted the significance of Lebanon’s southern border with Israel in the conflict, viewing it as a historic opportunity to liberate occupied land. Nasrallah mentioned Hezbollah’s operations on the Lebanon-Israel border, claiming approximately 670 military operations and the destruction of a significant number of Israeli vehicles and tanks.
He warned that if Israel achieved its military goals in Gaza, it would turn its attention to Lebanon. The ongoing clashes between the Israeli army and Hezbollah along the Israel-Lebanon border since October 8 have resulted in casualties among Lebanese civilians and Hezbollah members. The region has witnessed frequent exchanges between Israel and armed groups in southern Lebanon, particularly Hezbollah.
