RAWALPINDI/ ISLAMABAD: In Rawalpindi, a series of police encounters resulted in the demise of six alleged criminals, including the perpetrator of a heinous crime against a British-Pakistani citizen. The law enforcement agencies demonstrated commendable success in their operations against these violent robbers.
The initial encounter took place within the jurisdiction of the Race Course Police Station, where four bandits engaged in a fatal confrontation with the police. The criminals, identified as Sajid alias Guttu, Hassan, Muhammad Ali alias Babio, and Waseem, were reportedly part of an inter-provincial gang responsible for various crimes, including a recent robbery that led to the tragic death of Tasir Mehmood, a British-Pakistani citizen. The police promptly responded to the armed resistance, resulting in the elimination of all four suspects. Recovered from the scene were the deceased victim’s laptop and bag, alongside the weapons used in the criminal activities and police uniforms worn by the perpetrators.
The second police encounter unfolded in the Morgah Police Station area when officers on patrol attempted to stop four motorcycle riders. The suspects, refusing to comply, opened fire on the police. In the ensuing exchange of gunfire, two of the assailants, including Ahmed Khan with a history of street crime, were killed, while the remaining two managed to escape. It was noted that Ahmed Khan had previously been involved in an incident where he fired upon the police, injuring ASI Shoaib.
The effective police interventions highlighted here exemplify Rawalpindi Police’s dedication to mitigating criminal activities and safeguarding the well-being of the citizens. The recovered weapons, police uniforms, and other evidence will likely aid in ongoing investigations to dismantle criminal networks and bring perpetrators to justice.
