ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued an injunction preventing the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) from pursuing any action against Aleema Khan, sister of the PTI founder.
Aleema Khan lodged a challenge against both summons issued by the FIA with the IHC. She underwent biometric verification as part of her application process.
She petitioned the court to compel the FIA to furnish evidence and documentation pertaining to the allegations against her, and to nullify the FIA’s notices.
Aleema Khan, sister of the PTI founder, has taken legal action against two notices issued by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), directing her challenge to the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
The case has been forwarded to the Chief Justice for the constitution of a bench and scheduling of today’s hearing.
Accompanied by her lawyer Sheraz Ahmed Ranjha, Aleema Khan appeared before the IHC to contest both FIA notices.
The notices in question were issued by the FIA’s cybercrime and anti-terrorism wing.
The IHC has instructed the FIA to provide substantiating evidence and documentation related to Aleema Khan’s case.
In her petition, Aleema Khan seeks a declaration from the IHC invalidating the FIA notices.
The petition alleges that the FIA’s actions are politically motivated, aimed at victimizing Aleema Khan under the guise of official investigation.
It further asserts that Aleema Khan is willing to cooperate with a fair inquiry, and holds the FIA solely accountable in this matter.
