ISLAMABAD: Pursuant to the directives from the Accountability Court of Islamabad, advertisements featuring fugitive suspects involved in the £190 million scandal case were prominently displayed on Friday outside the Judicial complex.
Notably, the details of former Accountability Adviser Shahzad Akbar, ex-Special Assistant Zulfi Bukhari, Zia Al Mustafa, and Farah Gogi, who are absconding suspects in the £190 million scandal reference, were posted at the judicial complex on Friday.
They have been officially summoned to appear before the accountability court on January 6, as indicated in the advertisements.
These advertisements were released following the orders of Judge Muhammad Basheer of the Accountability Court.
Additionally, the reference includes former PTI chairman and his wife Bushra Bibi as accused individuals.
In compliance with Judge Muhammad Bashir’s order, the investigation officer of the reference, Mian Umar Nadeem, stressed the diligent enforcement of arrest warrants for Mirza Shahzad Akbar, Zia-ul-Mustafi Naseem, Zulfi Bukhari, Ahmed Riaz, Farhat Shahzad, and others implicated in the reference.
The Accountability Court in Islamabad has initiated the process to declare former PM’s accountability adviser Shahzad Akbar, former PM’s special assistant Zulfi Bukhari, property tycoon Malik Riaz, Farah Gogi, and other suspects as proclaimed offenders in the £190 million reference.
The court issued a written order directing the posting of proclamations outside the suspects’ residences.
Judge Muhammad Bashir’s order confirmed that the suspects, including Malik Riaz, Mirza Shahzad Akbar, Ziaul Mustafa Naseem, Zulfi Bukhari, Ahmed Riaz, and Farhat Shahzadi, have not complied with the arrest warrants deliberately, thereby undermining the justice system.
The court found sufficient evidence to designate the suspects as absconders, leading to notices being issued against them under Section 87 as proclaimed offenders.
The court ordered the proclamations to be displayed outside the suspects’ residences and read aloud in their native and residential areas.
The next proceedings against the suspects are scheduled for January 6.
