Saudi powerhouse Al Nassr cruised to a commanding 4-0 victory over Indian side FC Goa in their AFC Champions League Group D clash at the King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh. Despite missing Cristiano Ronaldo, Al Nassr’s depth shone through as Abdulrahman Ghareeb scored twice, followed by late goals from Mohammed Marran and Joao Félix.
Early Resistance from Goa
FC Goa started brightly, matching Al Nassr with solid organisation and energy. Coach Manolo Márquez made three changes from the previous clash, aiming to bounce back. However, Ghareeb’s stunning free-kick in the 35th minute broke the deadlock, giving the hosts the lead.
Al Nassr Pulls Away
After halftime, Ghareeb doubled the lead in the 53rd minute with a clinical finish from Ali Alhassan’s assist. Goa’s Dejan Dražić tested goalkeeper Raghid Najjar in the 63rd minute, but Al Nassr immediately responded. Marran scored from Nawaf Bu Washl’s cross, and Joao Félix sealed the 4-0 win with an acrobatic overhead kick assisted by Sadio Mané in the 84th minute.
Group D Standings Update
The defeat leaves FC Goa bottom of Group D with no points from four matches, while Al Nassr tops the table with a perfect record of four wins. Goa will next face Al Zawraa SC in Iraq on November 26 before concluding their campaign at home against FC Istiklol in December.
