A high-level Pakistani delegation, led by Federal Minister for Investment and Privatisation Abdul Aleem Khan, has been in Baku for key meetings aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and advancing economic cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
The discussions, which involved Azerbaijan’s top government officials, focused on expanding collaboration in sectors such as investment, energy, transport, and broader economic development.
The Pakistani delegation, which included senior officials and experts, held talks with Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Pervez Shahbazov, Transport Minister Rashid Nabiov, and Deputy Minister for Economic Affairs Samad Bashiri. The meetings primarily centered on enhancing cooperation in critical sectors like oil and gas, energy, and transport infrastructure.

The minister emphasized that Pakistan and Azerbaijan are on track to sign investment agreements totaling up to $2 billion, which are expected to drive long-term economic growth for both nations.
During the discussions, Minister Khan also extended an invitation to Azerbaijani authorities to take part in Pakistan’s privatization projects, further strengthening economic ties.
As part of ongoing diplomatic efforts, Pakistan’s Prime Minister is expected to visit Central Asian countries later this month, further cementing ties within the region.
