LAHORE: Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, made a significant statement on Thursday, urging PTI leaders to show their support for her brother. Speaking to the media outside the Lahore Accountability Court, she disclosed that Imran Khan had received two major offers from the “powers that be.” According to Aleema, Imran Khan has been urged to either leave the country or remain silent for two years.
Aleema also voiced her frustration over being denied a meeting with her brother for the past three weeks, emphasizing the importance of reconnecting with him.
During the media interaction, she discussed two ongoing cases: one related to the May 9 incident and another concerning a protest on October 5. She pointed out that the record for the May 9 case is with the Supreme Court, while the October 5 case has seen delays, with the investigating officer failing to show up despite multiple court appearances.
The judge, she said, suggested that if the officer did not present the record, they would break open the cabinet to retrieve it. Aleema expressed her dissatisfaction with the judicial process, stating that if justice is not served, they may consider withdrawing their bail application, acknowledging the judge’s apparent helplessness in the situation.
Additionally, Aleema called for a halt in the implementation of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mines and Minerals Act, expressing concerns over its impact.
She also touched on the arrival of an American delegation to Pakistan, stating that they were visiting of their own accord, and that she had no additional details. When asked about Imran Khan’s message to the international community, Aleema confirmed that they only communicate his instructions as per his guidance.
Concluding her statement, she reiterated her brother’s unwavering resolve, stating that Imran Khan remains committed to resisting pressure and will not back down.
