In a recent political development, Shamsher Ali Mazari, victorious as an independent candidate from NA-189 constituency in Rajanpur, has announced his alignment with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). This marks the third independent candidate to join forces with the former ruling party, a move indicative of shifting political dynamics.
Mazari conveyed his decision through a video statement, underscoring his allegiance to the state and emphasizing that, after thorough consultations with associates, he sees joining the PML-N as a means to contribute to the betterment of the state. The video has been widely circulated on social media platforms, garnering attention and speculation about the impact on the local political landscape.
During the elections, Mazari secured an impressive 38,875 votes, surpassing PML-N’s Sardar Riaz, who received 32,000 votes. This victory not only underscores Mazari’s popularity but also signifies a significant addition to the PML-N’s political strength.
In a similar vein, Muhammad Sohail, another independent candidate triumphant in the Punjab Assembly’s PP-240 constituency, has also declared his intention to align with the PML-N. This growing trend of independent candidates rallying behind the PML-N demonstrates the party’s appeal and potential resurgence.
This announcement follows closely on the heels of other independent candidates, including Raja Khurram Nawaz and Mian Muhammad Khan Bugti, who recently pledged their allegiance to the PML-N. As the political landscape continues to evolve, these developments highlight the strategic alliances being forged as parties position themselves for influence and power.
