The Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) on Wednesday cautioned against engaging in violence in the guise of political activities and undermining the integrity of free and fair elections, as stated by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir chaired the 262nd CCC at GHQ in Rawalpindi, where the deployment of the Pakistan Army to aid the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in ensuring peaceful elections in 2024 was deliberated.
The forum reiterated the army’s commitment to fulfilling its designated duties within the framework of the Constitution and under the guidance of the ECP, according to the ISPR.
During the conference, COAS Munir affirmed that the nation would never compromise on its sovereignty, national dignity, and the aspirations of the Pakistani people.
The forum paid tribute to the sacrifices of martyrs, including armed forces personnel, law enforcement officers, and civilians.
It was resolved that terrorists, along with their facilitators and collaborators, would face the full force of the state.
COAS Munir emphasized that Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are inviolable and sacred. He added that the country advocates for peaceful coexistence with all nations.
Conference participants were briefed on India’s campaign of extraterritorial and extrajudicial killings, its support for state-sponsored terrorism, and its targeting of Pakistani citizens.
The international community has expressed serious concerns about India’s criminal actions and its use of state machinery for extrajudicial killings worldwide, as highlighted during the conference.
The CCC reiterated its support for Palestine and the people of Gaza while highlighting the regional ramifications of the conflict and the potential for wider instability.
The forum urged for an immediate and lasting ceasefire and a sustainable resolution to the Palestinian issue.
It also reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir in their quest for self-determination.
Pakistan pledged to continue its moral, political, and diplomatic support for Kashmiris until justice is delivered in accordance with relevant UNSC resolutions, as expressed during the conference.
The forum acknowledged and commended efforts against illegal activities and criminal enterprises, including smuggling, hoarding, money laundering, power theft, and illegal immigration.
Participants stressed the need for sustained actions and their positive impact on the economy and the welfare of the people.
The forum received briefings on the operational readiness of military formations. COAS directed formation commanders to maintain focus on soldier training, administration, and morale.
