Pakistan national cricket team captain, Babar Azam, returned to Lahore from Dubai via a private airline following the disappointing performance in the World Cup in India.

Accompanied by other Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) staff, Babar Azam arrived at Lahore airport in the early hours of Monday, where fans gathered to welcome him, chanting slogans in support of the team.
During the welcome, the players and management staff were greeted by their families, and under strict security, they were escorted to their vehicles. Some enthusiastic fans also seized the opportunity to take selfies with their cricket heroes.
Reflecting on the team’s poor bowling performance, Babar Azam admitted on Saturday that the defeat against England had brought disappointment to the dressing room. He emphasized that meetings would be conducted to analyze both the positive and negative aspects of the team’s entire World Cup campaign.
In the wake of the World Cup debacle against England at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Pakistan’s team director, Mickey Arthur, stood by skipper Babar Azam. Addressing questions about his future plans, Arthur mentioned his contentment with returning to the Peak District in Derbyshire. Despite criticism for his dual role with Derbyshire and Pakistan, Arthur defended his coaching approach, particularly the use of Zoom.
Expressing confidence in Babar Azam, Arthur stated, “Babar is very, very close to me. He’s a young guy that needs to be taken on the journey. He needs to be shown the ropes. He’s still learning all the time and is growing.”
