According to a statement from the embassy in Karachi, a convoy carrying Chinese staff from the Port Qasim Electric Power Company was targeted near Jinnah International Airport in Karachi around 11 PM on October 6. The attack resulted in the deaths of two Chinese engineers, injuries to another, and some local casualties.
The embassy and its consulates in Pakistan have strongly condemned the terrorist act, expressing deep condolences to the victims and their families while offering sympathy to those injured. They are actively collaborating with Pakistani authorities to manage the aftermath of the incident.
In response to the attack, the Chinese diplomatic missions in Pakistan have implemented an emergency plan, urging Pakistani authorities to conduct a thorough investigation, hold the perpetrators accountable, and take necessary measures to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens, institutions, and projects in the country.
The embassy has also advised Chinese citizens, enterprises, and projects in Pakistan to stay alert, monitor the security situation closely, and enhance their security measures to prioritize safety.
