Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir emphasized the inclusive nature of Pakistan, stating that it belongs to all citizens without any form of discrimination based on religion, province, tribe, language, ethnicity, or sect.

He conveyed this message during an interaction with prominent Islamic scholars from various schools of thought at the General Headquarters.
General Munir strongly condemned the use of force and armed actions by any group outside the state, declaring such actions as unacceptable. This statement comes in response to recent incidents of attacks on minority communities in Pakistan, as reported by the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan.
In a particular instance on August 16, a violent mob targeted churches and residences of the Christian community in Jaranwala town, Faisalabad district, following an alleged blasphemy incident. At that time, General Munir had emphasized that Islam and civilized society do not tolerate intolerance and extremism.
During the recent interaction with religious scholars, they unanimously denounced extremism, terrorism, and sectarianism, expressing their unwavering support for state and security forces’ efforts to promote tolerance, peace, and stability in the country. The scholars highlighted that Islam promotes peace and harmony, and any distorted interpretations are driven by vested interests rather than true Islamic teachings.
General Munir praised the ‘Paigham-e-Pakistan’ fatwa issued by religious scholars to counter misleading propaganda from extremists and terrorists. He urged the scholars to actively propagate and implement this fatwa and encouraged unity among them, emphasizing the crucial role of religious leaders in guiding the youth towards understanding the Quran and Sunnah, character building, and acquiring academic and technical skills.
