Abbottabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan clarified that Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, has no affiliation with the party. He also revealed that around 5,000 PTI workers are missing, and the party is gathering data on these missing individuals at the district level.
Speaking to the media in Abbottabad, Barrister Gohar confirmed that Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, is currently in Peshawar. He also criticized Ali Amin Gandapur, alleging that the provincial resources were not being utilized effectively. The PTI Chairman further mentioned that the party is in discussions with other political groups regarding future protests.
These statements come amid reports of internal divisions within PTI, especially regarding disagreements between party leadership and Imran Khan’s wife. Aleema Khan has previously expressed concerns that her brother, Imran Khan, may not be fully informed about the situation while in prison and emphasized that her actions were not politically motivated.
Barrister Gohar expressed condolences for the party workers who lost their lives, stating that no government should resort to violence against its citizens. He announced that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government would provide compensation to the families of the deceased and employment opportunities for their children. He reiterated that PTI’s struggle is for the restoration of democracy and Imran Khan’s release, noting that the party continues to receive widespread support despite personal sacrifices.
The PTI Chairman also confirmed that the future course of action would be decided by Imran Khan. He denied any political ambitions for Bushra Bibi and described her participation in protests as that of a regular party member. Barrister Gohar emphasized that the PTI has established district-level cells to track missing workers and remains open to negotiations with other political parties.
