ISLAMABAD: Ibtesam, a PTI supporter has foiled the attempt of assassination of Imran Khan as he grabbed one of the two suspects who tried to shoot Khan. Ibtesam, a young PTI supporter is being termed as a hero on social media for his valour and sharpness of mind.
According to media reports, Ibtesam, was standing at a distance of 10 feet from Imran Khan’s container when the attacker launched the attack.
He said that he was watching Imran Khan on the container and suddenly he noted the assailant was loading his gun.
Imran Khan being shifted to Shaukat Khanum Hospital in Lahore from Wazirabad soon after attack.
PTI chairman Imran Khan and PTI Senator Faisal Javed are among eight people injured in attack on container in an attempt to assassinate Imran Khan.
The suspect, according to him, fired one shot targeting Imran Khan but then he got hold of attacker’s hand and pushed it down.
One of the assailants who launched attack on PTI chairman said that his only target was to kill the former premier.
He told the police that Imran Khan was misguiding people which was the sole reason behind attempt to assassinate Imran Khan.
He claimed that he had planned to assassinate PTI chairman since the long march had left Lahore, adding that he reached Wazirabad on his motorbike alone.
To a question, the assailant said that nobody was behind him and he performed the act at his own behest.
