ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) today ordered a forensic examination of a leaked audio between Latif Khosa and Bushra Bibi.
The court heard a petition on Thursday filed by Bushra Bibi, wife of former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, against the audio leak.
Earlier, a purported audio recording attributed to Bushra Begum has surfaced, claiming discord between her and Imran Khan’s sisters. The recording allegedly captures a phone conversation between Bushra Begum and lawyer Latif Khosa, where she expresses grievances about a confrontation with one of Imran Khan’s sisters.
Reportedly, the conversation hints at an incident during a meeting attended by Bushra and all three of Khan’s sisters. Bushra implies that the sisters opposed Khosa representing both Imran Khan and her in legal matters.
She further mentions that the discussion escalated into a significant issue, to which she chose not to respond directly to the sisters’ stance. Bushra also informs Khosa that Khan’s sisters complained about the lawyer’s behavior towards them.
In the conversation, she asserts having informed Khan that Khosa would handle her cases and those of Khan which were facing delays. Subsequently, she states leaving the meeting.
This audio emerges following the announcement of Barrister Gohar as a candidate for chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, a day earlier.
It’s noteworthy that Khosa, a senior lawyer associated with the Pakistan Peoples Party, had been representing Imran Khan in various legal cases. He also addressed the leak of the audio.
Before Gohar’s candidacy revelation, speculations circulated about Bushra Begum or Aleema Khan potentially becoming candidates for the party leadership, despite Khan’s sisters, Aleema and Uzma, not holding official positions within the party. T
hey have been actively advocating for Khan’s release and have appeared in court hearings pertaining to him.
Additionally, they have been implicated in cases related to corruption and events on May 9.
