ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court has summoned the Inspector General of Police and Director General of FIA in PTI’s Sanam Javed case. The court has summoned the IG Islamabad police and DG FIA on the petition of the father of Sanam Javed.
Senior journalist Mateen Haider revealed this development on Monday noon by sharing it on the X platform (formerly Twitter).

The Islamabad High Court has barred the transfer of Sanam Javed outside Islamabad.
Sanam Javed’s father has approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeking her release. He filed a petition in the IHC today requesting that her daughter be presented before the court and immediately released from what he claims is ‘unlawful detention’.
The petition also calls for details of the cases against her to be provided and for any further proceedings on these cases to be halted.
The petition names the federal government, FIA, IG Islamabad, and others as respondents, requesting the court to declare Sanam Javed’s detention or abduction as illegal.
According to media reports, Islamabad Police handed over Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) social media activist Sanam Javed to Balochistan Police on Monday. Sanam will soon be presented before a judge at a local court in Islamabad. After securing the transit remand, she will be transferred to Balochistan.
This development follows a series of arrests and releases. Yesterday, the District and Sessions Court in Islamabad rejected the FIA’s request for Sanam Javed’s physical remand and ordered her release.
However, police re-arrested her immediately after her release.
