ISLAMABAD: PTI Chairman Imran Khan is announcing the date of Azadi March by coming Friday.
Khan warned the government against taking steps to stop the march.
Addressing a press conference along with PTI Senator Azam Swati, Imran Khan played down the reports of his arrest. He said that azadi march would be started even if he he is arrested.
Worth to note is that the government has approached the Supreme Court against the PTI’s long march. However, the Supreme Court did not issue an interim order against the PTI’s planned long march, asking the government to take security measures.
The government has repeatedly warned the PTI chief of an action to foil the long march and to maintain law and order situation.
If the PTI holds azadi march, it would be the second march against the coalition government in Islamabad. The last march, which was held on May 25, ended abruptly and Imran Khan called off the march after reaching Islamabad.
PTI chief is demanding of the government to announce date of snap polls while the coalition government has rejected this time, saying it will complete its term.
