HBL PSL X
The Islamabad Police have concluded comprehensive security arrangements for the upcoming 10th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL), ensuring the safety of players, officials, and spectators throughout the tournament.
Final preparations were overseen by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Security, Muhammad Sarfaraz Virk, who conducted detailed inspections of all key duty points and team accommodations in Rawalpindi.
These measures were implemented under the directives of Inspector General of Islamabad Police, Ali Nasir Rizvi.
SSP Virk highlighted the integration of advanced technology to bolster the effectiveness of the security operations. The deployment plan includes the use of surveillance systems, rapid response teams, and specialized units to guarantee foolproof protection during the high-profile cricket tournament.
The objective, Virk emphasized, is to ensure a seamless and secure experience for players, officials, and fans alike.
The season opener is scheduled for Friday, April 11, at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, where defending champions Islamabad United will face off against Lahore Qalandars.
The match will commence at 8:30 PM, marking the beginning of a month-long cricket spectacle across four cities—Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, and Multan.
In parallel, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also confirmed the officiating team for the first 30 matches of the tournament. The panel includes 13 umpires and seven match referees, featuring renowned international officials.
Among the umpires are three members of the ICC Elite Panel—Ahsan Raza, Paul Reiffel, and Kumar Dharmasena—alongside respected Pakistani umpires such as Aleem Dar, Asif Yaqoob, Faisal Khan Afridi, and Rashid Riaz.
The match referees’ panel is led by ICC Elite Panel referee Ranjan Madugalle, supported by former Sri Lankan international Roshan Mahanama and five other experienced officials from Pakistan.
PSL 10 will consist of 34 matches, with Lahore hosting 13 games, including the Eliminators and the final on May 18 at Gaddafi Stadium.
Rawalpindi will stage 11 matches, including the Qualifier on May 13, while Karachi and Multan will host five games each. The schedule also includes three double-headers—two on Saturdays and one on Labour Day, May 1.
With stringent security protocols and top-tier cricket action lined up, PSL 10 promises to be a thrilling and safe experience for all involved.
