Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Yahya Afridi, held a meeting with the Italian Ambassador to Pakistan to discuss enhancing judicial cooperation between the two nations.
According to a statement from the Supreme Court, the discussions centered around strengthening legal collaboration by examining the similarities between the judicial systems of Pakistan and Italy. Both parties also explored opportunities for judicial exchanges and training programs to foster deeper legal ties.
Introduction of the ‘Commercial Litigation Corridor’
During the meeting, Chief Justice Afridi announced the launch of the ‘Commercial Litigation Corridor’, an initiative aimed at ensuring the swift resolution of trade disputes to promote economic growth. He underscored the pivotal role of Pakistan’s judiciary in interpreting the Constitution, upholding transparency, and building public trust in the legal system.
