Selection
Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Sirajul Haq emphasized the commitment of his party to ensure the integrity of the upcoming elections, firmly stating that the JI will not accept any form of “selection.” Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Haq praised the determination of the country’s youth, who he believes will actively participate in the democratic process from December 10 to February 8.
Expressing hope for the successful conduct of elections, he underscored the potential severe consequences if democracy were to be derailed.
Haq made it abundantly clear that the JI’s alliance is exclusively with the masses, and he stressed the importance of a fair and democratic electoral process that accurately represents the will of the people. Discussing the ongoing situation in Gaza, he urged the government to take practical steps in support of the Palestinian people.
During a separate statement in Lahore, Haq criticized the existing political system as “outdated.” He lambasted major political parties such as the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), asserting that there is little to no difference in their policies.
According to Haq, the ruling parties have primarily focused on personal gains, resulting in a surge in their properties and factories.
Haq called on the masses to throw their weight behind the JI in the upcoming elections scheduled for February 8. He expressed concerns about the misuse of the country’s resources over the past 76 years and criticized the lack of transparency in utilizing foreign loans. The JI leader urged citizens to unite against corruption and advocate for a political system that prioritizes the welfare and interests of the people over individual and party interests.
