KURRAM: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has placed a bounty of approximately Rs 130 million on 14 terrorists in Kurram. A notification has been issued detailing the specific rewards, with the highest bounty set at Rs 30 million for a terrorist named Kazim.
The remaining 13 terrorists have bounties ranging from Rs 1 million to Rs 10 million. The identities of those providing information about the terrorists will remain confidential, as stated in the notification.
This move is part of the provincial government’s intensified efforts to combat terrorism in the region. The bounties are designed to encourage the public to share valuable information that could help capture the wanted individuals in Kurram.
With the financial incentives, authorities aim to gather actionable intelligence to dismantle terrorist networks in the area.
In recent operations, police in Kurram arrested 10 terrorists involved in a February 17 attack on a convoy. The suspects were apprehended from various locations within Kurram and are currently being held at a secret location for further interrogation. The police continue to search for other militants linked to the attack, with further operations planned in the coming days. Authorities are urging the community to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
Earlier in the day, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur suggested that external forces were fueling unrest in Kurram. He claimed that foreign elements were supplying arms and ammunition to sustain the conflict, with the intention of destabilizing Pakistan. “But we will not back down. No terrorist will remain alive,” he stated.
The Chief Minister further revealed that the government is taking steps to secure the entire Kurram district, including the installation of CCTV cameras worth two billion rupees. Additional security measures are also being put in place to enhance safety across the region.
