ISLAMABAD: At least eight terrorists were killed in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted by security forces in the Razmak area of North Waziristan District, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday.
The operation was launched during the night of September 25-26 based on reports of terrorist presence in the area.
“During the operation, an intense exchange of fire took place between our troops and Khawarij militants, resulting in eight Khawarij being sent to hell,” the ISPR statement read.
The military’s media wing also confirmed the recovery of weapons and ammunition from the slain terrorists, who were involved in attacks against security forces and the targeted killings of civilians.
“Security forces are currently sanitizing the area to ensure no remaining Khawarij are present, as we remain committed to eradicating terrorism from the country,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari praised the security forces for successfully carrying out the operation in Razmak. He commended their bravery in eliminating the eight terrorists and reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to fighting terrorism.
“The operation against terrorism will continue until this scourge is fully eradicated. The entire nation stands united with our security forces in this fight,” Zardari stated, reiterating the resolve to safeguard the lives and property of citizens.
Additionally, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also thanked the security forces for their swift and courageous action, referring to the terrorists of “Fitnah Al-Khawarij” as a burden on the earth.

He added that with the support of the people, the forces will completely eliminate the Khawarij terrorists from the country.
