The Lahore High Court has scheduled the hearing of a bail petition filed by YouTuber Saad Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai. The case is linked to allegations involving the promotion of an online gambling application. This hearing will take place on Monday, marking an important moment in the ongoing legal proceedings.
Justice Shehram Sarwar will preside over the petition. The application names the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency and several other departments as respondents. The court’s decision will determine whether the YouTuber can secure interim relief as the investigation continues.
According to his legal team, Saad Rehman was arrested at the airport while preparing to travel abroad. His counsel, Advocate Imran Chadhar, argues that the arrest occurred even though no formal notice had been issued to summon him. This claim forms a central part of the argument for bail.
The lawyer further stated that the petitioner remained in custody for 22 days on physical remand following his arrest. During this period, investigators questioned him regarding his alleged role in promoting the gambling platform. The defence maintains that the detention was unwarranted and that investigative procedures were not followed correctly.
The case has drawn significant attention due to the YouTuber’s large online following. Supporters are closely watching the proceedings, while legal experts point out that the matter also highlights broader concerns surrounding cybercrime investigations and digital content regulation.
Meanwhile, the upcoming hearing will focus on whether the court finds grounds to grant bail. The petitioner’s team insists that he has cooperated with investigators and poses no flight risk. They argue that continued detention is unnecessary.
However, authorities maintain that the investigation must proceed according to legal standards. They also emphasise that the charges relate to the promotion of an online gambling application, which is a serious offence under existing cybercrime laws.
The hearing on Monday is expected to be significant. It will determine the next steps in the case and may influence how similar cases are handled in the future. As both sides prepare their arguments, attention remains fixed on the courtroom where the decision will unfold.
