Mahira Khan
Renowned Pakistani actress Mahira Khan has spoken out forcefully following a deadly missile strike by India that claimed the lives of at least 26 civilians across Pakistan. Taking to social media, Khan condemned the attack and the broader narrative of hostility and silence that she believes fuels conflict between the two nations.
In a powerful and emotional post on X (formerly Twitter), Khan expressed sorrow, anger, and resolve. “I am grateful that I live in a country where I am not dictated to say what I have to. I have a voice and I CAN use it,” she wrote. “We speak up when there are injustices in our own land, we condemn violence wherever it happens—even when my country Pakistan is instantly blamed without ANY evidence.”

The missile strikes, reportedly launched by Indian forces in the early hours of the morning, struck multiple civilian areas in Pakistan, including urban zones. Authorities confirmed that at least 26 civilians, including women and children, were killed, while dozens more were injured.
The attacks have sparked widespread outrage, both within Pakistan and among international observers and human rights organizations, with many calling for immediate diplomatic intervention to prevent further escalation.
Khan, who is widely known not just for her work in film and television but also for her advocacy on social and humanitarian issues, took aim at what she described as India’s sustained “war and hate rhetoric.” She noted that the media in India often fans the flames of division and fear, while powerful voices within the country remain silent.
“India, your war and hate rhetoric has continued for many years. I have seen and experienced it with my own eyes,” she wrote. “Your media fans the flames of division. Your most powerful voices remain silent in the face of genocide and war crimes—silenced not by law, but by Fear!”
In one of the most striking parts of her message, Khan denounced this silence as a form of moral failure: “In that fear, you claim victory. But to me, that silence is your greatest defeat.”
Despite the severity of the attacks and the emotional toll they have taken on the nation, Khan urged Pakistan to maintain restraint and uphold its principles. “My Pakistan, I love you. May we do the right thing. May we never stoop to that level even after this heinous provocation. May peace prevail. Ameen. Pakistan Zindabad. Pakistan Paaindabad,” she concluded.
Khan’s message has since gone viral, receiving widespread praise from fans, fellow artists, and peace advocates who see her words as a powerful call for justice and humanity in a time of grief and danger.
