On Tuesday, senior member of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Manzoor Wassan, asserted that there are ongoing efforts to bring former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif back into power, drawing parallels to the way Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder was ushered into authority.
Wassan, speaking to the media at Sukkur airport, expressed the PPP’s desire for timely elections while emphasizing the importance of the PTI’s symbol, the bat, remaining significant.
Wassan highlighted the challenges and hardships faced by the PPP, claiming that no other political party had experienced similar levels of adversity.
Additionally, PPP leader Nasir Hussain Shah stated that Nawaz Sharif should confront the legal cases against him. Shah emphasized that the PPP welcomed Sharif upon his return to the country, and despite the speculation about the PPP facing challenges in the upcoming elections, he reiterated that every political party would participate according to its own manifesto. Shah clarified that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s concerns were about a level playing field, not the Avenfield case.
