The agenda for Monday’s sessions of Pakistan’s Senate and National Assembly has been officially issued. Lawmakers are preparing to discuss several significant bills and reports.
Senate Session: Focus on 27th Constitutional Amendment
The Senate will convene at 11:00 am to review the 27th Constitutional Amendment Bill. The session will also feature the presentation of the joint standing committees’ report. Farooq H. Naek, head of the committees, will formally lay the report before the House.
Following this, the Minister for Law, Azam Nazeer Tarar, will move the bill for approval. This amendment is expected to generate extensive debate among Senators.
National Assembly Agenda: Legislative Bills and Cybercrime Concerns
The National Assembly is scheduled to meet at 4:30 pm. The agenda includes a call-attention notice submitted by Pakistan Peoples Party members regarding a 35 percent increase in cybercrime incidents during 2025.
Federal Minister for Economic Affairs, Ahad Cheema, will introduce the Civil Servants (Amendment) Bill. The session will also discuss the Iqbal Academy (Amendment) Bill 2025.
Raja Khurram Nawaz, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Interior, will present the report on the National Commission for Human Rights (Amendment) Bill 2025. In addition, the Motor Vehicles Industry Development Bill 2025 is on the agenda.
Privatisation Commission Updates
The session will also consider the Privatisation Commission (Amendment) Bill 2025. This bill proposes further amendments to the Privatisation Commission Ordinance 2000. Lawmakers will debate these changes to strengthen the legal framework of the commission.
Monday’s sessions in both the Senate and National Assembly are expected to be highly engaging. Lawmakers will review major constitutional amendments and key legislative proposals that may shape national policies.
