Interior Minister clarifies his presence at a youth event was misrepresented.
Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has denied attending any anti-China event in the United States, dismissing the accusations from his critics as “poisonous propaganda.”
Speaking to US media in Houston, Naqvi clarified that his participation in a youth event had been intentionally mischaracterized. He firmly stated that he did not take part in any anti-China activities.
Naqvi explained that his visit to the US was focused on collaborating with American counterparts to develop effective counter-terrorism strategies. He emphasized that terrorism is a global issue, not one exclusive to Pakistan, and reiterated that Pakistan would take decisive action against anyone who threatens the country’s security.
The minister also expressed concerns about attempts to stir up hostility against Pakistan in the US House of Representatives. While he acknowledged the right to political discourse, he cautioned that actions detrimental to Pakistan’s interests should be avoided.
Naqvi described his meetings with US lawmakers as “very positive,” highlighting the constructive nature of his discussions.
