Singer Claims Verbal and Physical Assault by Her Husband
LAHORE/KARACHI: Famous singer Naseebo Lal has allegedly experienced domestic violence at the hands of her husband in Shahdara Town, Lahore.
In the first information report (FIR) lodged at the Shahdara Town Police Station, the singer said that her husband had allegedly abused, assaulted, and committed a “grave act of violence”.At around 5pm on March 14, she said, her husband, Naveed Hussain came home — located in Ali Park, Garhi Mohalla — and immediately “started abusing me”. Naseebo said that her husband picked up a brick lying nearby and hit her on the face, causing severe injuries to the left side of her face and nose.
“He frequently argues with me, but today he went further by hitting me with a brick and verbally abusing me, committing a serious act of violence. Legal action must be taken against him,” she demanded. An FIR has been filed under Section 345 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), which addresses assault or criminal force with the intent to outrage a woman’s modesty.
However, in a later turn of events, Naseebo’s brother, Shahid Lal, spoke to Geo Digital and explained that minor disagreements between his sister and her husband were not unusual. He acknowledged that, on this occasion, the conflict escalated to physical violence, which led to the filing of the FIR.
Shahid further shared that the couple had since reconciled, and his brother-in-law had promised that such an incident would not happen again.
