Opposition Leader in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub, confirmed on Thursday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party had sent a dossier and a letter to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission.
Speaking on a private channel Ayub revealed that the letter addressed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, along with the dossier, had been forwarded to the IMF delegation.
“The letter, along with the dossier, was sent to the IMF mission, which also included the Petten report and a covering letter,” Ayub stated during his appearance.
Ayub explained that the letter raised important concerns about governance, rule of law, and transparency in Pakistan. It also highlighted ongoing human rights violations, he added. According to Ayub, the dossier provided evidence of alleged electoral rigging.
The letter specifically addressed the events of November 26 and May 9, with a focus on PTI founder Imran Khan and political prisoners. Ayub further mentioned that PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar and Ali Zafar were scheduled to meet with the IMF mission separately, where they would present relevant facts.
Recalling a previous encounter, Ayub reminded that two years ago, an IMF delegation had met with PTI founder Imran Khan, who had emphasized the need for transparent elections, which he claimed had not been conducted.
