Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei firmly rejected any notion of surrender to the United States, declaring that Iran’s recent military responses had revealed weaknesses in American and Israeli defenses.
In a nationally televised speech, Khamenei directly responded to comments made by U.S. President Donald Trump, who had stated that Iran should surrender.
“Trump revealed the true U.S. intention — they won’t be satisfied until Iran surrenders. But surrender is impossible. Our nation stands strong,” he asserted.
Addressing ongoing regional tensions, Khamenei dismissed recent U.S. airstrikes against Iran as superficial and politically motivated. “The strikes were merely a show of bravado, a performance for the public. Trump needed to project strength, and this was his way,” he said.
He commended Iran’s military for what he called a major breakthrough, claiming they had struck “urban and military zones” inside Israeli territory, bypassing Israel’s advanced defense systems.
“The Islamic Republic delivered a powerful blow to the U.S.,” Khamenei said, pointing to an alleged strike on the Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, which houses American forces. “We’ve demonstrated our capability to reach key U.S. military assets in the region and respond decisively,” he emphasized.
Turning to Israel, Khamenei claimed the “Zionist regime” was overwhelmed by Iran’s actions. “They boasted and threatened, but in the end, they were silenced by the unexpected response of the Islamic Republic,” he added.
He issued a stern warning, stating that any renewed aggression from the United States or Israel would be met with swift and forceful retaliation. “The enemy will pay dearly. We are ready, and if provoked again, we will strike back,” he vowed.
While Iran’s statements have not yet been independently confirmed, Khamenei’s address reflects escalating rhetoric amid ongoing regional instability.
